Why is AJ called a TNA original, when he's originally from WCW, not TNA?

He was even in WWE (one match, vs The Hurricane) before he was in TNA... Is being an original, just considered by where you "make your name"? Because I would think being called an "original" would be the right word for it. Since you wherent originally from there, you just got famous there.
